Australian construction giant Wholesale Building Materials (WBC) has joined forces with US-based manufacturer Green Building Materials to produce a range of green building products.

The partnership will see WBC supply materials to the Green Building materials in the US, while the company’s Australian operations will continue to manufacture its own products.

“Wholesale will supply all of the material that Green Building will use in their Australian manufacturing facilities,” WBC chairman John Broughton said.”WBC’s extensive experience in manufacturing and supplying green building components and materials will provide a major competitive advantage to both our global customers and our Australian clients.”

The partnership comes at a time when WBC is also expanding its global footprint, with its new offices in Dubai, New York, Tokyo and Hong Kong.

The company said its new headquarters will be located on the ground floor of the new World Trade Centre in New York City.

“This is a key part of WBC’s plan to expand its business in China, where it has a significant presence,” Mr Broughson said.

Mr Broughston said WBC had more than 70 employees working in Dubai.

The firm said it was expanding its manufacturing facilities in the UAE, where the firm will produce a wide range of products including insulation and building materials.

“We are committed to investing in our Australian facilities as we continue to build a strong global footprint,” he said.
